Obtain export permit for food products

When exporting food products, exporters must obtain an Export Permit for Food Products (EPFP). Exporters may request it directly from the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan or request assistance from the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan if they are members.

Obtain phytosanitary certificate

When exporting plants or products of plant origin, traders must obtain a phytosanitary certificate to attest that the consignments have been inspected and are free from quarantine pests, other injurious pests and conform to the phytosanitary requirements. The phytosanitary certificate is issued by State Plant Quarantine Service and valid for 30 days.

Arrange cargo transportation

Traders wishing to export goods must arrange in advance the transportation of the goods with a logistics company (i.e., air, rail and road freight forwarders). Before selecting a logistics company, make sure that the company has the required licenses.

Carpets and carpet articles from specialized shops in Ashgabat, Ashgabat International Airport, carpet weaving factories in velayats as well as at the Marketing Centre of the Turkmenhaly State Association are sold with the conclusion on definition of historical value.
